Hyatt Place - Lombard, Illinois

In order to venture into the middle hotel market Hyatt purchased 147 Amerisuites Hotels.  We were asked to help them create an entire new concept that could become a new prototype building as well as a conversion of the Amerisuites into the new Hyatt Place.  We focused on the 1 ^st floor lobby and public areas.  The idea was to create a home away from home for the business traveler.  A kitchen, family room, den, sitting room etc. was developed with a café to provide upscale food 24 hours/day.  The design has revolutionized this mid market segment and has proven more successful than Hyatt had even hoped.
