California Pizza Kitchen - San Luis Obispo, CA

In 1985 attorneys Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax decided they wanted to get into the restaurant business. They started creating unique flavor combinations on hearth-baked pizzas and more than 20 years later, their California Pizza Kitchen concept is a popular international chain serving creative flavor combinations from around the world. Between 1989 and 1995, Aria Group Architects worked on 42 CPK locations and between 2003 and 2008 they worked on 50 more. The San Luis Obispo location marks the 92nd location opened during an ongoing, 12-year collaboration between CPK and Aria Group Architects. The San Luis Obispo location opened in 2007 and was built by Shawmut Construction. Other CPK locations in the works include Wellesly, MA; Norcross, GA; Cherry Hill, ND; Sacramento, CA; Valencia, CA; McEwen, TN and Charlotte, NC.
