Viper Alley Underground
Chicago's block 37 is sitting on top of a huge, untapped resource: an unfinished CTA super station that would have served as a connecting hub for the Blue and Red lines. Unfortunately, the CTA abandoned those plans, leaving a huge subterranean cavern. A few weeks ago Crain's Chicago Business issued a challenge to architects, designers and visionaries of all kinds, to come up with the best use of the abandoned space. Aria Group, along with our client Scott Greenberg of ECD Company and the Wit Hotel, submitted our idea for "Viper Alley Underground".
