Hacienda Colorado

  • Location(s): Denver, Colorado

Hacienda Colorado’s first downtown location is along the prime 16th Street Mall; it took over the first floor of the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel.  This architecturally historic tower was originally designed by I.M. Pei. The massive location displays traditional rustic elements updated with a modern twist, adding new meaning to their “Mountain Mex” concept. Keeping the “hearth and home” feeling of a traditional Hacienda within this restaurant space was Aria Group’s goal. Warmth was emphasized through the use of color and texture in the form of vibrant orange and blue in the seating fabrics, reclaimed wood ceilings and beams, and traditional art on almost every wall.

Visitors enter the restaurant through strong, detailed wooden doors, reminiscent of all Hacienda Colorado’s stores.  A foyer transitions the guests from the busy street to the lively dining space. Multiple doors along the patio and wooden beams throughout create a continuous indoor/outdoor room from the bar to the patio. Oversized beams draw attention to the interior bar where a large metal liquor rack frames the perimeter, anchoring the bar within the center of the restaurant. Just off the bar is a white-wash finished fireplace where patrons are able to get cozier, yet still be part of the action.

The main dining room provides a mix of seating adjacent to the bar. It offers an open view to Court Street through large glass windows, inviting passers-by and hotel guests in. A second dining room is surrounded by retractable doors, which allows for private parties and events. When these doors are open, this area remains engaged with the bar and main dining areas. An eye-catching tequila display wall doubles as a screen along the hallway to the restrooms.
