Palmer House Hilton

  • Location(s): Chicago, IL
  • Size: 10,300 SF

Potter Palmer completed his first hotel in September of 1871 but just 2 weeks later the building fell victim to the Great Chicago Fire. Since then the hotel has been re-built twice where the current building, designed by Holabird & Roche in 1923, now stands.
In 2011, Aria Group had the pleasure of working with the hotel staff to re-energize the Lockwood Restaurant with a subtle casual elegance and more clearly define the historical significance of the hotel along with design modifications to Potter’s Lounge. The design team crafted charming seating arrangements distinguished by tawny leather, bands of wood, and crisp white surfaces. Guests can socialize in dining chairs while drinking tea, work at counter-height tables, or unwind in sofas as they gaze up at the French-inspired ceiling murals in the Palmer House lobby.
Aria Group has been working on tenant improvement projects with Palmer House for just over a decade. Most recently, Aria Group returned to partner with this special Hilton brand on significant renovations to their pool house lounge, a newly imagined fitness center and mens’ and womens’ locker rooms.
