Creating an Uplifting Space
Limitless Coffee & Tea founder, Matt Matros, believes that drinking a “clean” beverage leaves one feeling healthy and motivated. Therefore, the company’s goal is to inspire people by fueling them with clean caffeine. To reach this goal, Limitless sought to develop their own coffee products unlike anything previously on the market. Our client challenged us to design a concept that conveyed their mission, inspired by a forward-thinking approach and cutting-edge technology.
Aria Group created a mood-elevating space through the use of natural daylight and an emphasis on verticality. The linear central skylight casts colored shadows on a glass focal wall that doubles as a dynamic art installation. The installation constantly changes as the sun moves throughout the day, while glass leads the gaze upward to the skylight evoking an uplifting sense of wonder. Color and geometric pattern play throughout the space. Finally, soft textures in upholstery, acoustical wall panels and natural wood counter the pure-white airiness. The result is exciting, warm and fun.
Alternative to the Office
As part of the client’s vision, Aria created an alternative office for guests by providing areas for individuals to work and groups to meet. We interspersed a variety of appealing seating types throughout the space; every seat is equipped with outlets and some tables offer marker boards for brainstorming. The meeting table towards the back of the café has a large magnetic glass dry-erase board and wall-mounted TV that guests can use for presentations.
Inspired by the Brand
An acrylic rhombus tessellation is a backdrop to the coffee bar, inspired by the pattern printed on the branded coffee bean bags. Floating wood shelves display product and décor that reflects the brand. The coffee roasting process is on display behind steel-framed glass, thus showcasing an honest approach to coffee roasting.
2019 RED Awards
Recently, the Limitless Coffee Flagship location won both Hospitality and Best of Show categories in the IIDA RED Awards. We are thrilled with this award and are proud to be recognized by the International Interior Design Association, Illinois Chapter.
