Alter Brewing is an inventive, boundary-pushing brewery that opened its first location in December 2015 in Downers Grove, Illinois. Since then, Alter has transformed itself into a growing presence in the Chicagoland brewing scene. To round out their award-winning beer, they added a culinary focus their second location in St. Charles, Illinois in 2020. Their menu features ‘altered comfort’ cuisine – an inventive take on elevated comfort food. The new Oak Brook site is Alter Brewing’s third location and their first freestanding building.

Within a freshly-designed concept, this location houses a ‘Solera’ and offers a unique program for the brewery’s sour beer fermentation. This distinctive brewing process is central to the bar and dining room and visible from both the exterior and interior—functioning as the heart of this location. This is also a special nod to loyal, craft beer drinkers and a unique experience for all guests alike. The dining room has operable doors that open up to an expansive deck for guests to enjoy all year.
