Located in the heart of Door County Wisconsin, The DöRR Hotel combines contemporary charm with natural Nordic simplicity creating an experience that brings people and seasons together. Door County is known for its stunning year-round beauty, with an expansive shoreline, acres of orchards, and weaving hiking trails. The area is also a destination for art galleries, wineries, shopping, breweries, historical sites, and much more.

The design of this boutique hotel is inspired by the area’s Scandinavian heritage. The warm and inviting ambiance creates an intimate getaway for guests to stay. The ultimate in ‘hygge’ – a Danish term meaning ‘coziness’ – the hotel features 47 well-appointed guest rooms and suites featuring a bay-facing balcony and thoughtful in-room amenities. The DöRR’s nine suites feature linear electric fireplaces, custom-crafted navy blue Shaker-style kitchenettes, and outdoor terraces with waterfront views. All guest rooms, including the suites, feature clean white shiplap walls, herringbone pattern nylon carpet, custom natural white oak furnishings, and earthy-neutral finishes with marine blue accents to achieve a minimally elegant atmosphere to relax in.

The DöRR’s main lobby setting is as beautiful as the guest rooms. A team of hosts greet each guest as they arrive and the timeless faux marble bar top with glimmers of aged brass draws guests in towards the check-in to its left. Natural light pours through the two-story windows and spills onto the two-tone camel and black leather lounge chairs, soft knit fabric sectional, forest green leather banquette, and a walnut and black metal community table, enticing guests to find their perfect spot to relax or work. Two milky-white glass and aged brass stem chandeliers cast a dreamy light from the cedar-beamed ceiling.

The first-level lobby atmosphere has a homey but sophisticated air. Guests feel invited to gather around for a drink, snack, or even to play a board game at a soft lounge grouping or the walnut community table. The walls of the lower lobby are adorned with distressed map artwork that serves as a backdrop to the refined furniture. The lounge areas are separated from the circulation space by a blackened metal and linen glass storefront system, which mimics the exterior glazing pattern. Soft seating is wrapped in distressed leather alongside a custom sectional in textured black and white twill. Natural cedar beams frame the coffered ceiling overhead to add warmth and definition above.
