Henrico Sports & Events Center

  • Location(s): Glen Allen, VA
  • Size: 185,000 SF
  • Project Includes: Convention Space

Slated to open in Fall 2023, the Henrico Sports & Events Center has already been booked to host more than 100 events including college athletics and the Special Olympics. The complex is the first of its kind in Henrico County, VA, within the Greater Richmond Region. Aria Group partnered with Henrico County officials on this massive undertaking, one that has the potential to transform the area. The 185,000 sq. ft. space is equipped to support full-scale conventions, championship sporting events, and large-scale graduations for area schools. This municipal project is predicted to be a much sought-after location for sports and events, bringing thousands of visitors to the area and giving the local economy a boost.

The court space, totaling 12 basketball courts and 24 volleyball courts can accommodate large-scale tournament play. In addition to courtside seating, a mezzanine level also offers an overhead view. A 39,000 sq. ft. event space with center court seating offers plenty of space for events like graduation ceremonies, speaking engagements, and conventions. State of the art player locker rooms, a VIP coaches room, and several office and meeting spaces allow ample space for teams and entertainment groups to prepare and perform. A professional broadcast studio as well as full broadcast and AV hookups make the space an easy choice to host high profile games or televised events.

Henrico Sports and Events Center also caters to fans and attendees as an essential part of operations. A main bar provides dining and lounge seating, and guests can purchase refreshments form two designated concession areas. With this project, we aimed to create a space for the residents of Henrico County. Guests bring a space to life, so we gave consideration not only to sports regulations or technical functionality but to the comfort and sense of excitement guests might feel when they attend an event. This complex is a destination for visitors to the area, and it’s a gathering place to be utilized by the residents that call Greater Richmond home.
