Associate/Project Manager

As Associate and Project Manager, Sean leads the project team from pre-design through construction. He ensures that communication with clients, contractors and in-house staff is constant and clear so that the project produces optimum results for all parties. Sean guides the team to fully integrate design intent and technical quality in each project he leads, while creating a collaborative environment for the team to succeed.

While at Aria, Sean has worked on a variety of projects both nationwide and internationally.  Sean has worked on multiple locations for Perry’s Steakhouse, Carve American Grille, Rick Bayless Tortazo, Dave and Buster’s, Capital Grille, and Nando’s Canada.  In addition to clients with multiple locations, Sean has had the pleasure of working on Bar Sotano with Rick Bayless as well as Roanoke with Weber Grill.  Sean has also worked on the non-profit project for Sarah’s Inn.

Sean joined Aria Group in 2012 after working at Advanced Technologies Group and Hylan Design. He was promoted to Project Coordinator in 2017 and Project Manager in 2021. Sean is also a licensed architect in the state of Illinois. When not working or volunteering with Aria, Sean enjoys all things sports in his free time.

Project Manager

As Project Manager, Bryon leads the project team from the preliminary design phase through construction close out. He ensures the project is managed efficiently with consistent and open communication and leadership that leverages the strengths of the team. Most importantly, Bryon is responsive and open to client needs and direction.

Bryon has experience in many project types including hospitality, manufacturing, multi-family, office and retail – with projects that span from the local Chicago Area to International locations. Currently he is working with Topgolf on their new and existing facilities, as well as local independent clients.

Bryon joined Aria in 2014 and was promoted to Project Coordinator in 2016.  He ventured out to broaden his experience in 2018 and joined the construction and design department for AJ Capital Partners – a real estate developer focused on hotel and multi-family. Bryon rejoined Aria in 2021 as a Project Manager, because he believes Aria to be an industry leader, not just for those employed – but also the method and quality delivered to the client.

Project Manager

As Project Manager, Eduardo is responsible for managing multiple projects, coordinating all aspects of team assignments, project efforts that include planning, and design & technical administration. He manages his projects by effectively communicating with clients, principals, team members and consultants.

Eduardo joined Aria Group in 2010 as a Project Coordinator and continued with our team through 2016.  In the interim, he gained experience in a variety of sectors through his work at AECOM, Epstein Architecture, and Interplan.  Eduardo worked on projects such as the Illinois Tollway Maintenance Facilities, Tru by Hilton, AECOM workplaces, Ulta Beauty, Carson Pirie Scott, Saks Fifth Avenue, Levi Strauss & Co., and restaurants such as Chipotle, Potbelly’s, Red Robin, and Panda Express. Eduardo joined our boomerang club in 2022, and rejoined Aria as a Project Manager.

Mark O’Henley, AIA

Project Manager

As Project Manager, Mark’s responsibilities include directing the project from inception to opening with special emphasis on scheduling and cost control. Mark’s thoroughness and attention to detail have been instrumental components of his quick rise through the organization. This combined with his calm demeanor under pressure ensures open and clear communication with clients, contractors, and consultants as well as staff.

In addition to managing various Dave & Buster’s projects throughout the country, he is also working with BJ’s Brewhouse and Restaurant in developing new projects on the East Coast and working with them on a new smaller footprint concept.  Prior to this he has worked on P.F. Chang’s projects throughout the country and internationally.

Mark joined Aria Group in 1999 as an architectural intern. He became a licensed architect in the state of Illinois in 2005 and was promoted to Project Manager in 2006. Mark has also been a member of the AIA since 2006. Mark is an avid sports fan, both as spectator and participant, and in fact met his wife Mimi while playing floor hockey. He also enjoys spending time with his family and son Marshall.

As Project Manager, Damian oversees the entire spectrum of project development from pre-design to end of construction. In his ten years at Aria Group, Damian has been involved in all aspects of project development that has spanned conceptual design, drafting, and contract administration. Now responsible for the seamless coordination of all project efforts, Damian is a proven business partner with his clients and consistently meets project requirements ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution of project schedules, design intent, communication, documentation, and coordination with consultants and contractors.

Damian has successfully managed many projects across the country for core, multi-unit clients that include Topgolf, Shake Shack, and Dave & Busters. His efforts have been key in the brand development of Topgolf by working closely with both the design and construction teams as they expand throughout the country. As an active contributor in the evolution of the Topgolf prototype designs nationwide, Damian has most recently been managing projects in Glendale AZ, Greenville SC, Rogers AR, and Buford GA.

During his career in Architecture and Design, Damian has developed and completed numerous projects in a wide range of building types including Hospitality, Assembly, Institutional and Residential at architectural firms like Solomon Cordwell Buenz, K2 Studio, and Koo Architecture. When he’s not working on hospitality projects at Aria, Damian has made it a goal to travel internationally to broaden his love and understanding of culture, architecture, and design worldwide.

Matthew Shoener, AIA

Matthew Shoener, AIA
Project Manager

As Project Manager, Matthew helps to facilitate clear communication between design and technical staff and works with the principal architect and project manager in connecting with clients. He ensures that the technical drawings convey design intent and that scheduling and technical goals are met in order to ensure a smooth work process and optimal results for every project.  Some concepts Matthew has worked on include Multiple locations of California Pizza Kitchen, of which the Century City location is most recent. Several Nando’s Peri Peri locations in and around Chicago have been completed on Matthew’s watch including the Wabash, Oakbrook and Naperville locations. TopGolf, Leon, various LaTasca concepts, and many boutique restaurant locations such as Pono Ono Poke round out recent projects Matthew has been involved in.

Matthew graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with two bachelor degrees in Architecture and European History and completed his Masters of Architecture in 2011. He is an American Institute of Architects member, and is a licensed architect in the state of Illinois. On his off time, Matthew enjoys reading, amateur woodworking, and attempting to teach his son to throw a baseball ambidextrously.
